External Description:

The Workforce Development Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering training and Health Plan staff development programs. Additionally this position will work with leadership to develop and adapt programs for specific customers.

 

The ideal candidate will support the front line management in achieving training and development objectives; participates in preparing goals and objectives for training, designs or provides recommendations to select instructional materials for training designs and participant materials such as handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.  House the ability to trains assigned instructors, trainers and supervisory staff in effective techniques for training, such as on-the-job training, technologies, etc.  Provides appropriate recommendations for instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, seminars and workshops.  Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as workshops, on-the-job training, refresher training, one-on-one instruction, etc.  Develops a means of measuring the effectiveness of divisional SWHP training programs through testing, etc. and modifies methods and procedures or plan and establish new methods and procedures when appropriate.  Provides metrics results of the training programs and training progress of employees.  Under the direction of department leader, develops, writes and coordinates training manuals working with HR Manager and Sr. Management for specific details.  Maintains Health Plan training records.  Develops strong relationships with all Health Plan departments to develop course materials and receive feedback.  Performs other duties as assigned.
