The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-G) projects target audience needs from current issues and trends and validates identified needs with key stakeholders. The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-) uses relevant evidence, theory, research, innovative processes and practical experience to design, implement and evaluate high quality and culturally sensitive educational activities, programs, and/or projects for staff based on identified knowledge and practice gaps. The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-G) develops, coordinates, and implements a learning plan and evaluates progress toward desired outcomes. The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-G) acts as a champion of scientific inquiry, integrating best available evidence into practice. The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-G) supports, facilitates, and/or participates in research, EBP, and QI, including dissemination of findings through educational programs, courses and other activities. The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-G) performs nursing duties as delegated through physician orders or as outlined in patient plan of care to provide quality care to patients. The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-G) directs, coordinates and participates in the activities required for delivery of quality patient care as part of the healthcare team. The Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-G) oversees care of all patients on unit for specific shift in accordance with established procedures, makes appropriate assignments, and assists the Director, Nurse Manager of Staffing Office to ensure proper coverage of personnel.
An ideal candidate for the Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPD-G) uses the tools, theories, skills and knowledge of the specialty to improve healthcare practice of learners based on our Professional Practice Model.
