External Description:

The Manager Lab Operations plans, organizes, develops and coordinates the operations of a division of the Department of Pathology.  The Manager Lab Operations ensures that regulatory requirements are met, monitoring test systems to ensure that they are in control and supervising staff, including all activities relative to staffing, work assignments, hiring/termination, performance reviews, orientation, and professional development. The Manager Lab Operations works regularly with all sections within the division as well as with other departments to assure comprehensive laboratory testing and ensure that preanalytic functions, testing functions and reporting functions are integrated by working closely with section chiefs and chief technologists, to provide the best possible laboratory services.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years' experience, a Master's degree and be familiar with laboratory instrumentation and use of basic office equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to establish and implement quality assurance programs to ensure that the proper procedures and changes are in place.
