External Description:

The Supervisor of Medical Education oversees the professional education programs of Baylor Scott & White Health and will provide leadership, support and guidance to program administrators. The Supervisor serves as part of the Medical Education Administrative Team and is accountable for the implementation of educational and accreditation activities for efficient and effective operations.

Below are the essential functions for the role.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Medical Education team and department to ensure efficient operations.

  • Supervise and guide team to create and maintain a fair and supportive work environment that fosters respect and individual development.

  • Develop, interpret and apply policies and procedures; interview, hire and train new staff members.

  • Plan, assign and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline staff, address complaints, resolve challenges and conflicts.

  • Participate CME in course planning on a regional level including identification of gaps and educational needs.

  • Build and foster relationships at all levels of the organization and serve as liaison with affiliate programs as applicable (Medical Schools, Joint Providers, participating sites for CME etc.)

The ideal candidate must have the ability to perform all essential functions of Program Administrator I and Program Administrator II (Sr.) and have excellent written, verbal, communication, leadership and project management skills and proficient in Microsoft Office applications. The ideal candidate must be competent, professional, and courteous, leads by example, encourages growth, and is committed to Medical Education. Experience with accreditation (ACGME, ACCME, etc.) related tasks, such as surveys, site visits, annual program reviews, evaluation, case logs and milestones is preferred. National Program Administrator Certificate or equivalent preferred.
