Reporting to the Regional Director of Clinical Informatics, the Director of Clinical Informatics is a Corporate resource assigned as the primary local facility resource for hospital-based Clinical Informatics implementations, optimization and integration efforts. As the primary clinical liaison to BSWIS, the facility leader will work closely with Information Services (IS) project management, project teams, assigned facility IS Director and other Informatics team members to coordinate and lead hospital HIT activities, initiatives and resources as needed. This role coordinates and champions HIT implementation project activities and acts as a change agent for optimal use of technology to support the provision of patient care.

This role further serves as a hospital operational leader, facilitating local HIT shared governance councils and representing the facility on system shared governance councils as assigned/elected. This role will direct facility HIT optimization and integration activities with an emphasis on the workflow intersections of patient care, clinicians and technology. In collaboration with facility stakeholder, BSWIS, Informatics and other corporate departments, the director will work to resolve issues, enhance HIT/EHRs adoption/satisfaction, drive standardization, utilize data and metrics to solve operations problems, and promote innovation while continually working to improve the integrity of clinical data as well as the associated workflow processes. It is important to note that this position will require flexible and extended work hours during some phases of projects, planned/unplanned downtime as well as some travel.

The Director Clinical Informatics will contribute to BSWH financial stewardship and to our lean initiatives by engaging facility leaders in driving solutions to the enterprise level. This position will share successful facility-level initiatives with peers, then work to ensure that successful solutions are replicated across the enterprise.

This position has oversight of Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center � Fort Worth.

- Coordinates informatics resources and leads site-specific and enterprise activities associated with the HIT clinical implementation process:
- Current State and/or Gap Analysis
- Documentation of Requirements for Changes in Design of Clinical Systems
- Functional Validation of Systems
- Workflow Validation & Design
- End User Testing Activities/ Shadowcharting
- End User Communication, Education, Training, and Support
- Gate Keeper for all HIT Change Requests and Change Control
- Ensures facility level success; elevate local HIT to enterprise level
- Utilizes data and metrics from the clinical systems to facility and health system leaders to solve operational issues
- Provides site resource (people, space, equipment) identification and allocation for HIT activities and ongoing support.
- Acts as primary point of communication and messaging for all HIT related communication at the facility.
- Obtains input from other facility when possible to facilitate enterprise solutions.
- Provides analysis of end user business needs to ensure that the applications are performing to expectations and supporting adoption, as well as championing application utilization.
- Supports clinical objectives by working with medicine, nursing and allied health representatives to analyze, redesign, and standardize patient care processes to improve the delivery of patient care and advise on utilization of new technology. Supports adoption and continuous improvement of the standard Baylor Scott & White practices (enterprise model) for using HIT.
- Facilitates, coordinates and manages multiple technology projects that impact patient care in accordance with BSWIS and clinical standards. Involves appropriate individuals to participate on multi-disciplinary project teams. Works with other BSWH facilities to come to common resolution on standard practice and content for the use of HIT.
- Acts as the "voice of the end users" from the facility as well as for the Central Texas Division in system level teams that are working to improve or change the process, people or technology in the clinical environment.
- Works with facility leadership to develop and manage operational and capital budgets.
- Contributes toward the refinement of appropriate support processes and technologies

Minimum Requirements
- Masters� Degree
- 5+ years of experience
- Active clinical license, such as RN (Registered Nurse), PT (Physical Therapist), or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist), etc.
