Job Summary:

 

Plans, organizes, and manages the operations of area of responsibility, including financial accountabilities and all activities relative to staffing, work assignments, hiring/termination, performance reviews, orientation, and professional development. Acts as liaison between area of responsibility and the nursing and quality leadership, vendors and user groups.

 

-Plans, develops, evaluates, implements, and communicates information technology strategy for area of responsibility, including current and proposed architectures, processes, organization change and applications that will help move the department and BSWH towards their goals.

 

-Develops an evolving plan for area of responsibility and ensures its alignment with the nursing and quality needs and priorities.

 

-Gathers and analyzes the appropriate internal and external information to prioritize and fund department projects.

 

-Cultivates relationships with other members of the BSWH system and oversees development of reporting and data analysis. Maintains current knowledge of new and changing regulatory and reimbursement requirements for BSWH.

-Manages and directs the staff in area of responsibility to create and maintain an optimal work     environment.

 

-Effectively coordinates and administers personnel policies and procedures in conjunction with selection, orientation, training, assignment and staffing, evaluation, discipline and discharging employees according to Scott & White policies, standard practices and in compliance with state and federal labor laws.

 

-Establishes a climate that reduces obstacles and allows and promotes staff to formulate and practice own initiatives and perform at maximum achievement level.

 

-Identifies and provides opportunities for the staff to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to contribute to the success of the department.

-Oversees and directs the operational activities in area of responsibility to ensure its efficient operations.

 

-Ensures that services are provided in a timely, accurate, effective, and cost-efficient manner to provide outstanding customer service to user groups.

 

-Establishes specific policies and procedures that support and advance nursing and quality objectives while complying with Scott & White policies and procedures.

 

-Ensures that personnel in area of responsibility comply with department and Scott &White

policies and procedures.

 

-Prepares, administers and monitors budgets for area of responsibility to maintain financial viability.

 

-Prepares and recommends effective department budgets to cover the projected costs of staffing, equipment and supplies needed to maintain effective operations.

 

-Manages the day-to-day department operations in compliance with approved budget.

 

-Develops and maintains an excellent working relationship with user groups.

 

-Plans and effectively manages special projects, including establishing project milestones, tasks, deliverables, and resources needed, as well as fostering communications and obtaining agreement and commitment.

 

-Creates standards and ensures that area of responsibility provides the appropriate level of service to other departments so that they are using standard equipment and supported at level that help them drive their business.

 

-Serves as a liaison for area of responsibility and Scott & White departments in a professional manner.

 

-Communicates with Leadership and Scott & White departments on all relevant projects and initiatives to notify them of needed resources and schedules.

 

-Effectively manages relationships with information systems vendors, service providers, consultants and others to build long-term, successful, and cost-effective partnerships beneficial to Scott & White.

 

-Negotiates contracts including costs, scope of services, and timeframe for outsourced projects that are beneficial to Scott & White.



BSN Highly Preferred

5+ years experience required

Great Communication and Analytical skills

Experience in Quality/Regulatory Reporting preferred

Nursing leadership experience is a PLUS
