Outpatient Risk Adjustmnt Supervisor

The Outpatient Risk Adjustment Supervisor directs the daily activities of the team, resolves issues and maintains effective communication with staff, leadership and physicians. The Risk Adjustment Supervisor performs all duties and responsibilities of a CDI Specialist, and works effectively with the other supervisor, and may from time to time serve as a backup.
Below are the essential functions for the role.
Oversee the coordination of the Coding Team to ensure accuracy and consistency of Risk adjustment ICD 10 CM Diagnosis coding chart audits and provider queries on clinical documentation and coding.
Interpret ICD 10 CM of coding conventions, formats, instructional notations and definitions in coordination with physician-coder leadership; communicate and educate Providers on Diagnosis selection and accurate use of risk adjustment concepts.
Supervise and teach onsite and remotely-working coder auditor team, including team assignments for chart review, provider queries, and assigned leadership projects; train and update coding team on coding, internal and HR policies; conduct home visits for HIPAA inspection of remote-working auditors and track AAPC/AHIMA membership and certification renewals.
Participate in committee meetings for areas of responsibility.
Serve as an escalation step in coordination with the CDI Data Manager and track chart review scoring, assembly and distribution of data for program leadership and provider education.
Ensure areas of responsibility complies with medical staff rules, regulations, bylaws, and other pertinent regulatory agencies.
Track team office supply needs, including repairs/phone maintenance in coordination with the Administrative Assistant.
The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal, computer software usage and excellent ICD 10 CM Diagnosis coding skills. The ideal candidate must have the ability to take direction, follow through on all assignments and have extensive Risk Adjustment Diagnosis coding experience. Clinical work background, provider query and a prior supervisory role is preferred.

Bachelorï¿½s degree or equivalent experience required
1+ year experience required
Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Evaluation & Mgt. Coder (CEMC) or Family Practice Coder (CFPC) or Internal Medicine Coder (CIMC) or Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) certification required
