External Description:

The Pharmacy Technician Specialist Job assists in the technical aspects of the distribution of medications and related functions.  The Pharmacy Technician Specialist performs tasks independently and maintain a specialized area of responsibility while aiding in the delivery of patient care.  In addition, the Pharmacy Technician will perform the following tasks:

�  Stocking, preparing, labeling, dispensing and delivering medications

�  Compounding or admixing ingredients and extemporaneous medications for dispensing, cart fill and sterile preparation

�  Delivering medications to patients and carts to floors in a timely manner

 

The ideal Pharmacy Technician Specialist candidate will have knowledge of pharmaceutical operations; contract compliance, invoicing and inventory control, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
