JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the supervision and management of staff who are engaged in the design, development and delivery of various training and development programs for Baylor�s EHR, enterprise-wide. Responsible for the direction and development of staff in the development and delivery of training products and projects. It supports organizational goals and priorities that relate to the EHR. Responsible for developing, directing and improving relationships between IS and ETTS. Oversees daily training and project operations to ensure sustained performance and organizational strategies within Baylor. Maintains knowledge and expertise in applicable Epic application.

 

WHAT IS EXPECTED (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Measures, monitors and manages performance and overall quality for the respective team.

Serves as a point of escalation to staff when issues arise.

Implements best practice to optimize performance and productivity.

Defines scope of projects, work schedules and manages departmental resources to complete projects on time, within scope and on budget.

Maintains proper staffing levels, allocates resources, manages payroll, provides ongoing two-way feedback.

Develops and executes staff development plans and evaluates individual performance and conducts personnel actions such as promotions, transfer and other status changes.

Understands requirements and designs of technical and process standards. Works with management to finalize standards to ensure long-term sustainability, strategic alignment and cost effectiveness of proposed enterprise and departmental standards.

Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of ETTS that includes staff assignments, daily activities, service desk ticket management and external business relationships.

Applies continuous improvement processes to ensure ongoing quality, maximize effectiveness of learning.

Proactively stay up-to-date on EHR changes and developments and works to enhance the capability of self and team.

Establish appropriate principles, tools and methodology for training and development related to the EHR. Measure training program results and impact to improve effectiveness and efficiency.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Certified in an Epic applicable application. Proficiency accepted with certification within one year of hire.

Skilled in project management with ability to articulate business needs and project plans in conjunction with the team. Ensures that milestones are met and that end products meet expectations.

Effective at providing timely, concise and appropriate information orally and in writing. Able to listen and understand concerns from team and escalate when necessary.

Able to analyze problems comprehensively and apply critical thinking to derive resolution. Takes initiative to own an issue.

Builds strong relationships with others and demonstrates strong collaboration and team-building skills.

Responsive to management and staff. Able to maximize time to produce deliverables and on target operational results.

Manages performance through effective monitoring, coaching and feedback.

Ability to establish and maintain a collaborative high performance environment by utilizing employee talents, experience, interests and diversity.

Proficient in Microsoft applications.

Proficient in use of authoring tool(s) for development of online training and other training artifacts.

 

License/Certifications:

Certification in one applicable Epic application.

Will accept Epic proficiency in at least one applicable Epic application with certification within one year of hire.
