Position Title:

External Description:

The Art Therapist plans, directs, and coordinates medically-approved therapeutic art sessions designed to enhance patient physical, emotional, and learning skills.  The Art Therapist observes, analyzes, and records patient's participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions, modifying treatment programs as needed. The Art Therapist develops art therapy treatment plan and establishes patient goals while maintaining the flexibility necessary to adapt changes based on the patient�s emotional and/or physical limitations. The Art Therapist confers with members of treatment team to plan and evaluate therapy programs, prepares and submits reports to treatment team to reflect patient's reactions and evidence of progress or regression and maintains expense records and supplies. The Art Therapist develops community art projects in coordination with the arts in medicine program coordinator for the cancer center.
 
The ideal candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills, has the ability to draw conclusions and has the ability to provide personal assistance and emotion support to patients and family members.

  • Master�s Degree in Art Therapy
  • 1+ year experience
