External Description:

The CPE Intern provides an opportunity to gather work experience performing administrative and other specific functional area activities working side-by-side with Baylor Scott & White Health employees lasting approximately ten (10) to eighteen (18) weeks duration.
The CPE Intern can expect to perform the following:
 
  • Gain knowledge and experience through various assignments and on-call evening and weekend shifts as scheduled
  • Receive assignments through a supervisor and works on their own under limited supervision to complete projects and tasks as assigned
  • Provide support in functional area of assignment in accordance with instructions and established procedures
  • Obtain information through sources and disseminates this information to appropriate individuals and departments for follow up and clear communication
  • Receive appropriate training and orientation to function successfully in the department
  • Maintain records and files as directed
  • Attend meetings as needed, asks questions and provides information about current work
  • Attend class under CPE Supervisor's direction, actively participates and completes assignments promptly
  • Given appropriate access and training in EPIC and is required to perform professionally with this patient information
     
    The ideal candidate will have interpersonal and customer service skills; Verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work with and respect cultural norms of diverse groups of people, follow instructions, and learn assigned computer tasks
