JOB SUMMARY
The Clinic Access Services Director is responsible for the overall management of the Access Services Department within the individual ambulatory practices. This includes the coordination of all functions related to patient access. These functions include scheduling, insurance verification, precertification, patient financial management, admitting, discharging, customer service and cashiering.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
The Access Services Director is responsible for interviewing, selecting, ongoing development and evaluation of individuals and utilize core values as the basis for management, recruitment, orientation, and training for employees. The Director is responsible for planning and implementing functional area-based system applications, developing work teams, delegating tasks, coordinating unit and departmental projects, workflow, training, developing of staff, and managing the department budget. The Director implements the standardization of processes, performance targets, appropriate staffing levels and financial performance to include up-front collections, denial management, and bad debt reduction initiatives. In addition, the Director serves as a subject matter expert in the requirements, rules and regulations of third party payers, Medicare, Medicaid, and governmental programs.


KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of utilization management as it relates to the continuum of care for inpatients, hospital and clinic environments, operations, revenue cycle services, CMS regulations and medical terminology. The ideal candidate must have strong verbal, written and communication skills and have the ability to establish relationships.





QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience is required
- EXPERIENCE: 3+ Years of experience is required
