Cardiac Device Tech Trainee

The Cardiac Device Tech Trainee under direct supervision, will be trained to complete a variety of functions related to implanted cardiac device management, such as ICD, Pacemaker and ILR evaluations for outpatients, inpatient and procedure areas. The Tech Trainee will perform pacemaker parameter testing and remote monitoring, including the interpretation of data and recognition of potential life threatening cardiac irregularities that require referral to EP or Cardiology Service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
The Cardiac Device Tech Trainee will assist in troubleshooting critical device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution and educate patients on all aspects of their device including remote monitoring and follow-up protocol.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and be proficient in ECG interpretation. The ideal cancidate must have the ability to use logic, reasoning, read, write, speak and comprehend the English language and work independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate must be skilled in basic computers and electronic management of medical records. Pursue a certificate from an approved device technical school ex: (Arrhythmia Technical Institute - ATI) that provides a formal curriculum of education and training in cardiac pacing, defibrillation, cardiac .resynchronization therapy and electrophysiology. Must be able to obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire date and within six (6) months - one (1) year after hire or proof of completion of rhythm interpretation and management educational program. (Internal or External accepted). Preferred to become IBHRE certified within 3 years of experience. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
