The Driver performs a variety of delivery duties utilizing a motor vehicle as necessary to ensure the proper distribution of materials to various areas within the health system. The Driver ensures correct staging of merchandise for delivery to appropriate building or warehouse within established timeframes. The Driver ensures supplies and packages are securely prepared for delivery. The Driver correctly labels totes, boxes, or pallets to ensure shipping documents accompany order. The Driver verifies count and condition of products loaded and unloaded, making reports of overages, shortages, and damage as required. The Driver may assist in picking, wrapping, and stacking product on pallets. The Driver transports and delivers products in accordance with the routing schedules developed by management. The Driver may assist in loading and unloading trucks at origin and destination. The Driver maintains current driving licenses and medical certificates required to operate assigned vehicle. The Driver completes a driver log or trip report in accordance with DOT regulations. The Driver utilizes a vehicle inspection check sheet, inspects truck for defects before and after operation. The Driver turns in vehicle inspection sheet daily to warehouse management and notifies management of any defects. The Driver completes all documentation and manifests required to indicate proper shipment and receipt of product. The Driver maintains delivery vehicles in clean, working condition; diligently checking fuel, oil, water and transmission fluid levels daily, replenishing as needed.
The ideal candidate for the Driver role will load trucks safely, securing all items for travel and ensuring load meets all government regulations. The Driver will ensure good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner. The Driver will also navigate truck to destinations and return to origin applying knowledge of highway conditions and commercial driving safety regulations.
