We are proud of our nearly 2,000 military and veteran employees.
We have been recognized as The Best of The Best 2022 by US Veterans Magazine for championing veteran initiatives.
With a number of facilities located near military bases, we’ve made a priority of helping service men and women successfully transition to rewarding civilian careers. We’re also proud to hire military spouses, which has brought us many extraordinary people while making family life a little easier.
We accept technical certification credit for veterans with a corpsman certificate, surgical technology certificate, biomedical equipment certificate, basic life support certificate and many others including IT, business management, and other clinical certifications.
Recognized six years in a row, we are ranked among the top 10 employers nationally on VIQTORY's 2022 list of Military Friendly® Employers for government or non-profit organizations. We participate in the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program, which helps service members bridge the gap between their military and civilian careers, along with the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Fellowship Program to support employment for military spouses.

Our Military Employees
Hear how our Military Employees translate their work in the military to their career at Baylor Scott & White Health. It's their determination, faith and teamwork that bring our values to life.
Our work on behalf of those who have served extends beyond hiring.
The Warriors Research Institute, part of the Baylor Scott & White Research Institute, is working to improve care for current and former military personnel and emergency responders.
Benefits for employee service members include medical coverage, life insurance benefits, and provision of full pay to National Guard and/or Reserve employees who are called to active duty, whether salaried or non-salaried. In addition, we provide free trainings for veteran and veteran family member employees to become peer support specialists. This training provides skills to support peers who are facing mental health or substance use challenges. These employees are also eligible to receive confidential, evidence-based mental health treatment via telehealth at no cost.
In partnership with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), we understand the unique talents and skill set Guard and Reserve Service members can bring to the civilian workforce.
We have pledged by signing the ESGR Statement of Support to provide an environment where men and women who have served and continue to serve our country feel fully supported and can thrive.
A number of our managers have received Patriot Awards recognizing support provided to their employees and their family members when called to active duty.
We are always honored to meet our country’s service professionals to find the right opportunity to work with us and continue advancing healthcare for the better.
